Yang Ye, a standardization engineer of Shenzhen Chuangyi Technology Development Co., Ltd., introduced that there are 53 mandatory national standards related to the electrical design of solar photovoltaic glass curtain walls, but no relevant subdivided standards have been issued, and the lack of related standards at home and abroad has caused various design agencies, Production units, construction units, etc., have designed, manufactured and constructed according to their own experience. Different algorithms have resulted in different configurations, reduced interchangeability, and increased system design and maintenance costs.
According to reports, from a technical point of view, solar photovoltaic glass curtain walls have more power generation than ordinary glass curtain walls, bringing a new application.
First of all, as a building glass curtain wall, can not be separated from the building requirements, including installation, lighting, mechanical properties. This will involve the selection and design of multiple devices such as junction boxes, cables, controllers, and batteries. “The prospect of this industry is huge.†Experts at the meeting said that from the perspective of solar power generation costs, the cost of generating electricity from solar energy is being reduced in a breakthrough manner. At present, the most cutting-edge technologies in the world have been able to achieve battery costs of less than $1/Watt, and the cost of power generation has dropped to RMB 1/kWh. Domestic solar energy companies already have the power to reduce the cost of solar power generation to RMB 1/kWh in 2 to 3 years.
The reduction of costs will lead to the continuous expansion of market demand. It is understood that in 2009, the global solar cell output was 9.34 billion watts, and the global solar energy output value was 38 billion US dollars. China's solar cell output accounted for 49%, and most of them were exported to Europe, America and Japan. In 2010, China's share in the application of solar photovoltaic and building integration accounted for 20% of China's solar market share, and experts expect it to rise to 62.5% by 2020. Experts and representatives from solar photovoltaic companies and related organizations from the standards fixed offices of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, China Construction International Standard Design and Research Institute, Shenzhen Institute of Standard Technology, Shenzhen Chuangyi Technology and other relevant regions of the country attended the meeting. After a day's discussion, all participants reached a consensus on the basic framework of the standard, the tasks that each participating unit should undertake, and the next steps of work. The convening of this kick-off meeting marked the beginning of the substantive drafting of the Ministry of Construction’s industry standard “Electrical Design Specification for Solar Photovoltaic Glass Curtain Wallsâ€.
