The standard parts are organized into two levels: the top level is divided into several categories according to international standards: ANSIInch, ANSIMetric, DIN, CB, ISO, JIS, etc. The bottom layer is organized according to the functions of standard parts. For example, the next level of ANSIMetric is divided into boltsandscrews, nuts, pins, springs, washers, and so on. After organizing the standard parts library, it is easy to search and reuse standard parts.
The reuse of standard parts is not only the reuse of geometric models, but also contains a lot of other information. (1) The information related to the geometrical structure of the standard piece of geometric information, including the geometric features of the standard part and the corresponding set of parameters. The reuse process of standard parts is the process of dimension driving the corresponding standard parts template. The feature-based parametric modeling method can be used to complete the characterization and parametric modeling process of standard parts on 3D CAD systems. (2) Assembly information One type of information is the geometric cooperation constraint relationship between standard parts and assemblies, which is an integral part of the standard parts library management system; the other type is the assembly features required in the assembly, such as Geometric elements such as axes, points, etc., which are related identifiers in the modeling process of standard parts. (3) Relevant information related to all elements related to a standard part. The specific associations are as follows: the association of standard parts with schematic diagrams, the association of standard parts with dominant parameters, the association of standard parts with hole geometry, the association of standard parts with holes parameters, expressions, and the correlation of assembly features, all of which are related. The information is all defined in an XML file. The template file in the standard parts library is called during the design process as the current design instance file. This process is called instantiation.
