Monobloc pumps land on BAE's Type 45 destroyer

HMS Daring Launches (Courtesy of BAE Systems) Mono installed its Monobloc B Series pump on a BAE Systems 45 Destroyer built for the Royal Navy. Each boat has two Mono pumps that are part of the domestic freshwater system provided by Rycroft Ltd. Boats fitted with this water heater provide hot and cold domestic freshwater to all crew members. Rycroft needed a 6-foot lift pump to pump the water from the sump to the water heater, and the Monobloc B-Series pump was the ideal choice for this application with its compact construction and highest performance, and Rycroft was delighted to be This project supplies equipment. Longer Service Life SB051 and SB031 pumps installed by Rycroft are just two of the 33B Series models. The 12 pumps on the Type 45 destroyer operate at an operating speed of 800 rpm with a maximum flow rate of 15 m3 / h. The positive displacement capability of the Monobloc pump allows it to lift up to 8.5 m at the entry, thus allowing easy pumping of deep catch without the need for diving equipment. The SB031 pump combines Mono's Flexishaft drive shaft with durability and stability. The wear parts between the drive end and the pumping unit are removed, so the stability is improved and there is a 5 year shelf life support. Mono single-screw pumps offer less wear at lower speeds, longer service life, and longer service intervals. The two basic systems used on board the ship were delivered in April 2005 and the remaining equipment was delivered at the same time as the BAE project. The Type 45 destroyer is a new generation of anti-war destroyer, the first destroyer HMS Daring was launched in February.
