China's total furniture retail sales increased by 28.3% year-on-year (first half of 2009)

Industrial production picked up quickly, and the decline in industrial profits slowed down. In the first half of the year, the added value of China's industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 7.0% year-on-year (an increase of 10.7% in June), and the growth rate fell by 9.3 percentage points over the same period of the previous year. Sales in the domestic market grew steadily and rapidly, with counties and below growing faster than cities. In the first half of the year, the total retail sales of social consumer goods was 58,711 billion yuan, an increase of 15.0% year-on-year (15.0% increase in June). After deducting price factors, the actual increase was 16.6%, an increase of 3.7 percentage points year-on-year. Among them, the retail sales of furniture increased by 28.3% year-on-year. Consumer prices continue to fall, and production prices have fallen significantly year-on-year. In the first half of the year, consumer prices fell by 1.1% year-on-year (in June, a year-on-year decrease of 1.7% and a month-on-month decrease of 0.5%). The ex-factory price of industrial products fell by 5.9% year-on-year (in June, it fell by 7.8% year-on-year).
