Xujing Announces Establishment of Photovoltaic Module Factory with Xijun, a Solar System Manufacturer in Japan

Taiwan’s Industry and Commerce Times reported that Taiwan’s solar wafer maker Xu Jing announced a joint venture with Japanese solar system maker WEST HOLDINGS to establish “E-SOLAR” photovoltaic module manufacturing plant to produce single- and polysilicon photovoltaic modules with an annual production capacity of 50MW. It is reported that the module factory will invest 400 million yen, holding 61% of shares, to be built in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan, and plans to start trial production of the first batch of photovoltaic modules in May. On March 12th, Xu Jing and the Mayor of Ehime of Japan and the Mayor of Matsuyama jointly organized a press conference to explain the situation.

It is understood that after the 311 earthquake in Japan, Japan's domestic awareness of the use of renewable energy is on the rise, and the Japanese government has actively launched a number of solar energy subsidy policies, including the implementation of the renewable energy purchase policy starting in July. In February 2011, Asahi Crystal sought the layout of the terminal's seaport and began to lay out the Japanese market. "E-SOLAR will become the best cornerstone for Asahi Glass to enter the Japanese solar market." Xuan Jing, chairman of Xujing, said, "Xujing will actively invest in photovoltaic power plant projects in Japan. This year, there will be 40MW of power station installed capacity, and its first 2MW. Photovoltaic power plants are working on land preparation."

Asahi's current capacity is second only to Green Energy and Sino-American Crystal, ranking third in Taiwan.
