The U.S. Department of Commerce may rule today that higher import tariffs on Chinese aluminum exports to China will be imposed.
Once the preliminary tariff is announced, the result of the penalty can be assessed in about a week. Later, the Chinese importer of aluminum profiles in China needs to pay a deposit or bond in cash for the assessed tariff. The full investigation and the final ruling will generally take several months or about a year, and the amount of the tariff may change according to the results of the ruling.
The US International Trade Commission earlier this year made a ruling on this, confirming that the aluminum manufacturer in the United States has been infringed, and anti-dumping duties are expected to be announced in October.
According to public information, China is the largest exporter of aluminum profiles in the world, and its share in the aluminum profile market in 2009 has reached 20.1%.
