Neonatal swine hemolytic disease, also known as hemolytic jaundice in piglets, is an immune swine disease caused by blood type incompatibility. It is due to the red blood cell lysis caused by newborn piglets after colostrum, clinically presented with symptoms such as jaundice, anemia, poor blood coagulation and hemoglobinuria. The incidence of this disease is relatively low, but the mortality rate can reach 100%, causing a large economic loss to the farmers.
1. Pathogenesis:
The disease is mainly caused by the incompatibility between the sow and the hereditary blood type of the piglets . The blood type of the pig has four blood types: A, B, C, and D. The red blood cells contain specific antigens, and the plasma contains antibodies against the four antigens. During the maternity period, if the blood type of the sow and the piglet are not matched, the fetal red blood cells enter the maternal blood circulation, and the mother produces fetal red blood cell antibodies. The red blood cell antibody enters the fetal blood circulation to destroy the red blood cells, and the newborn pig enzyme is immature and cannot be effectively combined. Transforming unbound bilirubin in the blood and manifesting as jaundice. Carcasses, fats, and muscles are yellow-stained, with varying degrees of mass on the liver. The spleen was brown, slightly swollen, and the kidneys were swollen and congested. Dark red urine accumulates in the bladder.
2. Symptoms : After the disease is discovered, timely diagnosis and treatment, symptomatic treatment, and intensive care are the key to treating the disease.
2.1 the most acute type
Sudden onset within 12 hours after sucking colostrum, stop eating milk, mental fatigue, cold, tremor, acute anemia, and soon fell into shock and died.
2.2 acute type
After 24 hours of sucking colostrum, jaundice appeared, conjunctiva, mucous membranes and skin yellow staining, poor blood coagulation, obvious systemic symptoms in 48 hours, most died within 3 days after birth.
2.3 subclinical
After sucking colostrum, the clinical symptoms are not obvious, there is anemia, the blood is thin, and it is not suitable for coagulation. Urine test showed strong occult blood positive, showing hemoglobinuria; blood test can find hemolysis.
3. Diagnosis
After the piglet is born, the sensation is good, everything is normal. After sucking colostrum for several hours to ten hours, the whole litter of the piglet is onset. This is the diagnosis point of hemolytic disease of newborn pigs. According to this, diagnosis and medication can be made according to this. The results to be tested, so as not to delay the disease.
4. Pig disease prevention and treatment program:
(1) Immediately, the whole litter pig stops sucking the milk of the original sow, and the other sows are breast-feeding, or artificially breast-feeding while taking the multivitamin. Can reduce the condition and gradually heal;
(2) severely ill piglets can be treated with antibiotics and dexamethasone, hydrocortisone and other corticosteroids to suppress immune response and anti-shock;
(3) In order to enhance hematopoietic function, vitamin B12 and iron preparations can be used for treatment, and hemostasis can be slowly stopped to stop blood sensitivity or menadione sodium bisulfite;
(4) Sows that have hemolytic disease of piglets, the next breeding, change to other boars, can prevent recurrence.
Chinese herbal medicine treatment: For sows with previous hemolysis, take "Huoxue Huayu San" (Motherwort 50g, White Pelican 18g, Muxiang 10g, Angelica 15g, Chuanxiong 15g, total grinding to fine) for 7 days before birth. Every 15g, once a day, until production. After the piglet is born, Yinchenhaotang (Yinchen 9g, 茯苓6g, medlar 6g, Phellodendron 3g, turmeric 3g, Alisma, Atractylodes 3g, licorice 3g, jujube 3, fried into 500m1), daily 2 For 3 consecutive days, each piglet was given 1 mg of prednisone once a day.
