January-August aluminum production in Tajikistan fell by 14% over the same period of last year

On September 8, the state-owned TALCO Aluminum Company of Tajikistan stated on the 7th that Tajikistan’s aluminum production from January to August decreased by 14% compared to the same period of last year to 232,544 tons.

TALCO stated that Tajikistan’s reduction in production was due to the decline in global aluminum prices. Aluminum exports are the main source of foreign exchange reforms.

Tajikistan plans to produce 377,000 tons of aluminum this year, which is lower than the 399,450 tons produced in 2008.
