According to data released by the Shanghai Diamond Exchange on the 19th, although July is not the peak season for diamond consumption, both the diamond trading volume and the transaction amount have increased substantially. The general trade import was 89,400 carats, an increase of 27.5% from the previous month, and a substantial increase of 45.1% year-on-year, including 85,500 carats of finished diamond imports, an increase of 49.7% over the previous year, 0.09 million carats of rough diamonds and 0.3 million carats of diamond powder. The total amount was 80.325 million US dollars, up 22.3% from the previous month, and up 54.3% year-on-year. Among them, the finished product was 79.99.01 million US dollars, up 53.5% from the previous year, the rough diamond was 409.90 million US dollars, and the diamond powder was 0.54 million US dollars.
On the export side, general trade exports decreased sharply. In July, exports were 5.138 million carats, a decrease of 89.3% from the previous year. The value of goods was 496,100 US dollars, a decrease of 87.3% from the same period of the previous year. In addition, the bonded exchanges of the Drilling Exchange continued to be active. In July, the number of bonded transactions in the registered exchanges reached 64, and the amount of diamond bonded transactions was 0.72 million carats. The value of the goods was US$8.615 million, an increase of 52.4% over the previous year.
