[comprehensive] an expired helmet

In the Class B laboratory of the Fourth Laboratory of the Guangzhou Petrochemical Inspection Center, a yellow outdated helmet was particularly noticeable, especially the obvious depression in the left side of the front of the helmet. It was even more shocking.

The owner of the helmet was the class leader Lu Yonglong. Because the helmet once "rescued" him, he was not willing to turn in even if he had expired. It was kept as a safety "heirloom" for the team.

It turned out that during the shutdown of the three units of polypropylene in 2016, Lu Xiaolong went to the site to measure the explosion after receiving the inspection task. While he was concentrating on his work, an iron rod descended from heaven and squatted on his head. Fortunately, the hard hats that are standardly worn block the “this stick”.

Since then, this helmet has become a "live textbook" for the safety education of the team. Every time the class security class, Lu Haolong always put this overdue helmet on the table to start learning.

“This special hard hat reminds us to always remember the safety string. We can't take any chance at safety at any time!” said teammate Zeng Yifeng with deep feelings.

“With this 'living textbook', the team’s safety learning is particularly solid and effective, and employees’ safety awareness and the ability to find safety hazards are also strong,” said Shi Yongkai, HSE director of the center.

In April of this year, Zhong Yindi, an employee of the team, heard an abnormal pipe sound during the plumbing of a polypropylene device. She was the first to take the initiative to detect the concentration of combustible gas around her and found that there was a leak of combustible gas in the pipeline. Inform the device personnel to deal with it in a timely manner to avoid possible security accidents.

At 19:05 on September 4, the team received a dispatch notice that a leakage occurred in the pipeline of the three polypropylene units. The branch launched a Class B emergency plan. Lu Haolong and team member Ou Renchang quickly wore air suckers, picked up sampling tools and analytical instruments, and arrived at the installation site within 5 minutes. It was learned afterwards that although it was only an emergency drill organized by the company, the ability of the team members to respond quickly was praised by the relevant units.

From January to September this year, Lu Xiaolong led staff of the team and carefully searched for hidden dangers. Among them, more than 30 hidden risks were rectified and rewarded by the Central Security Fund.
