New advances in precision and ultra-precision machining technology (4)

China's Beijing Machine Tool Research Institute, Aviation Precision Machinery Research Institute, Harbin Institute of Technology and other units have been able to produce several kinds of ultra-precision CNC diamond machine tools, such as the ultra-precision lathe with a diameter of 800mm developed by Beijing Machine Tool Research Institute and the ultra-precision developed by Harbin Institute of Technology. Precision lathes, both machines have two-coordinate precision CNC system and two-coordinate laser on-line measurement system, which can process aspherical curved surfaces; and Harbin Institute of Technology has developed an ultra-precision milling machine for processing large planes of KDP crystals. KDP crystals can be used for optical frequency doubling and are important components in high power laser systems. It must be acknowledged that in terms of ultra-fine machine tool technology, we still have a considerable gap compared with the advanced level of foreign countries. The quality level of domestic ultra-precision machine tools needs to be further improved.

In the field of large-scale ultra-precision machine tools, the United States, Britain, Russia and other countries have large-scale ultra-precision machine tools developed by themselves. However, because there are no large-scale ultra-precision machine tools in China, large-scale ultra-precision parts such as large-diameter curved mirrors cannot be processed. The export of large-scale ultra-precision parts is strictly limited, which seriously affects the development of China's defense cutting-edge technology. At present, China is stepping up the development of vertical ultra-precision machine tools with a diameter of more than 1m.

In terms of multifunctional and efficient special ultra-precision machine tools, China is still basically blank.
