Measurement of spatial intersecting dimensions

In the actual work, the measurement problem of the spatial intersecting size is often encountered. This type of measurement can be satisfactorily solved by a simple operation on the coordinate measuring machine; however, the relevant measurement size is indirectly measured by the universal measurement method. The result can be obtained by a certain function operation. An existing pneumatic tool handle is shown in Figure 1. The dimension to be measured in Fig. 1 is the intersection point of the two holes axis to the end face distance L = 77.4 ± 0.1 mm and the intersection angle of the two axes is 12 °. Several measurement methods are introduced here and the accuracy of their measurement results are analyzed separately. Before the measurement, it should be matched with a cylindrical mandrel that fits well with the two holes, and the mandrel shape error and diameter measurement error are all within 1~2μm. And the hole is tightly matched to ensure no relative rotation and turbulence during the measurement.
